yeah it is a pain when you go somehwere else because the info gets submitted to the RTA and they will see that you went somewhere else Sad IN theory you have to go back to the same place

What I would do...

Brake pedal pad? Fair enough & I can replace it myself. Yep good one

Steering rack leaks? Doesn't lose much fluid & I never need to top it up between the 5,000K service intervals.

Just clean up around the rack with a bit of rag and some carby clean/degreaser - whatev and go back. If it leaks that slowly then it won't have time to get dirty on your drive to the shop Smile

Rear muffler corroded? Bulls**t, maybe the tailpipe needs replacing but the muffler itself is in pretty good nick. Tricky. You *may* have to get like a stock?? muffler from a wrecker or somethiing should be cheap as. I paid like $30 for mine when my muffler fell off.

Oil leaks? Again it doesn't lose much oil & only needs replacing at the service intervals.

Just degrease mate

Brakes? Ok so I don't know about this one, but if the rear drums need work then maybe I should consider an upgrade to SX discs if it's worthwile.

Upgrading could be a pain.. new booster? hydraulic lines.. etc etc I dunno enough about how yours is set up. what do they mean by 'work'. You could take them apart and have a fiddle.. adjust a bit. as long as the workshop sees it is 'different' and 'better' you will probably be ok

Rear wheel bearings? Again I don't know about this one.

no idea. if they say so I guess so.. I don't know enough about bearings to know costs and stuff....

New clutch & flywheel? I've been expecting this since i've owned the car but $700 alone sounds like a bit much.

actually that isn't too bad a quote. Sad sounds about right. I imagine they mean a 'machined' flywheel...

hope this is some helpful food for thought anyway Smile
