Midnight GSI Newcomer Registered: February 2004	1jz-gte in a early model Supra? Tue, 03 February 2004 05:56 Hello All Not up on the chassis codes for the Supra's, but I am looking for info on installing a 1jz-gte in a early model Supra (87-90 or so). I not sure what was the base motor for those cars. Was it the 7M or was that the 5M? Anyways. I am looking to see if the swap can be done and what is necessary to swap this motor in. The short story is: I work part time at a performance shop here in the states and one of the guys was asking me if I know if it could be done. That's why I came to you guys. I can get the motors for around $1,100 US and the early model chassis fairly cheap also. Sorry for the ignorance, but I am a 4ag guy myself. They just consider me the Toyota guy since they mostly work on Honda's,Nissan's,DSM's,Subaru's. Thanks in advance!! C-YA!!
