the mk3 3 supra you're talking about (ma70) came with the 7m motor in locally delivered cars, but in japan it came with the 1jz engine, so everything is a very nice fit.
I know that since the US runs loom, steering, etc on the opposite side of the car to japan, there are a couple of problems involved there
if you can get yourself a half cut, that would be ideal. then you can just drop the entire crossmember out and put it in. As I said, the loom needs extending (I think)
