That's exactly your problem.
The 2TGEU TPS has 3 stages. Idle, normal, >60% throttle. And as you press on the accelerator, little arms in the TPS close different circuits, idle if bottom 2 touch, normal if nothing touches, >60% if top 2 touch. It has a little track which a runner sits in to connect the different arms. Take the cover off one and have a look how it works, very basic.
So, for this reason, running a 4AGE or anyother resistance one (3SGE, etc), wouldn't work. Adjusting your TPS to be exactly correct is quite difficult, tip: if you get annoyed with it, just set it so the idle arms don't touch, throttle response will be good. (Having idle arm just touching should achieve same thing, but takes a bit more dicking around to get it just right).
