not sure about mr2 but i did my timing belt on my rolla which required me to take the crank pulley off.

in the auto stores the crank pulley is called a harmonic balancer, so just buy a harmonic balancer puller from somewhere like repco or someshit for around 15 dollars.

screw it on the pulley and the pulley will slide off. i had the motor held up with a trolley jack under the sump with it lowered slightly caus i was spacing the engine mount out.

i used jason p's trick of having the torque wrench on the pulley bolt whilst giving the starter a quick flick. did the trick really nicely.
