i dont see any reason why you should not be able to use an original 4A-GZE computer (ECU). I would like a know a few things before i say its a definite yes or no.....

  • Is your 4a-gze a MAP or AFM version? (manifold absolute pressure OR Air flow meter)
  • How have you utilised the throttle body? different/modified etc?
  • Any other significant modifications?

If your motor is almost completely stock... there is no reason why you shouldnt be able to use a standard ECU. But make sure it suits the exact 4A-GZE you have.
But if you have lots of money and are considering further mods to your motor (eg. turbo etc) then why not consider an aftermarket computer such as Wolf 3D ver.3 - they can be had for around $500 these days second hand.
