Taking delivery of my first Toyota next Sat. need advice Fri, 06 February 2004 03:36 Go to previous message
Hey Guys and Girls

as you probably guessed by now I'm picking up my very first Toyota soon and I am needing a bit of advice on the best way to get the thing up and running again with the least amount of effort.

The car is a RA60 with targa top in very good nick. everything standard. Its my mates car so I know what condition everything is in and how well its been serviced.

The problem is that the car has been stationary for the past 12 months. He did go and kick it over every couple of weeks but hasn't done so in the last 3 months.

I've checked and it has oil and water (no leaks*thanks god*) and they appear fine.

Just wanted to know if there is anything i can do to help bring the baby back to life again and reduce any of the problems I know cars can have if they sit for a while.

I had planned to get it home, kick it over and just let it idle for a and hour or so with no load to let everything get lubed up again.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Phil
