I have no idea if the subaru's even have one of those, or if this is even close to what the problem could be, but it never hurts to throw up ideas. I guess you could also check the fuel tank for leaks, and have a snoop around in the boot - check the fuel lines and make sure there's no splits or anything (or wherever the tank access/fuel pump is located in the subaru). -Josh- [Report message to a moderator]
