pretty much depends on the layshaft, and how the gears are arranged...
usually the layshaft will be shorter on the 4 speed, so will not work in a 4 speed box..
you could get another layshaft machned up, bu tthen you may as well get new gears made up as well....
grab a manual or pull some gearboxes apart and see....
fitting the individual gears onto the mainshaft should be easy tho..
