Tue, 10 February 2004 23:22 i have to agree with the bare metal bit. i've done one panel on my celica and, its come up awesome (even sitting in undercoat) the rest of the car will be done the same way! 2 weeks solid 100% full on work and you *might* get it done. believe me when you get started, its the little things you will find along the way to slow you up = annoying. like they say it IS all in the preparation BIG time. and as far as the not using a sander goes - crap - i use a "mouse" and its brilliant - highly recommend it. esp in little fiddly areas like where the doors live ect - a good investment. can't comment on the 1/3 sheet sander idea but reckon that would be ok for the big stuff. one thing i can tell you to be careful of is those rotory discs that go on your drill - IF you use one, use it slowly, and, don't concentrate on one area - as it will heat the metal up badly and potentially warp it. they are very very effective at removing surface rust (making sure you prep well after it) [Updated on: Tue, 10 February 2004 23:25] [Report message to a moderator]
