I seem to recall an issue of Zoom (I think) that had the NA engine in a MB 4cyl turboed rather than an engine swap.
In my opinion that would be easier than a swap and may even be cheaper. I'm certain that MB engines are strong enough to handle forced induction - german over-engineering Rolling

No idea what they did to run it though - might have been a Link Plus as I think AVO did the work.

I'll see if I can locate the article.
