wagonist Forums Junkie Toymods Club Treasurer Location: Sydney Registered: May 2002	Re: AE86 rear hatch gas struts Fri, 16 August 2002 02:37 If you a really cheap way to fix the struts (ie free) simply lift the hatch up to its fully open position, get someone else to hold it up, and then lean on the body of the strut near were the chrome shaft slides in. This bends the shaft slightly which stops it falling down, but will still allow it to be pulled down past the kink. I've done this to several older wagons (which generally have heavier tailgates) which were either owned by tight-arses or were not worth spending money on. [Report message to a moderator]
