having just taken all the running gear out of a RA28 and dropped it into a TA23 i reckon the easiest way is to remove all the front end, take the bonnet off disconnect everything and take it out with an engine hoist. i got my W50 box and Ford V6 (don't ask) out without taking the gearbox off easy as and considering the 2T's are a fair bit skinnier (i'd probably take the exhaust manifold off though) it shouldn't be too hard. i found it easiest to jack up the front of the car at first, it makes it easier to get the gearbox out of the tunnel, and then let it down as you move the whole lot forward (my engine hoist was on wheels, i'm assuming they're all similar)

good luck
Matt
