They talk about turbos but it's the same thing.

After you have done all the calculations, in an ideal world, you want to be right in the middle of that 66% efficiency circle at your desired rpm. Of course, seeing as car engines don't operate at constant rpm but continuously vary across a wide range of rpm, if you were to do these calculations for the range of rpm you were looking at, you get a line across the different efficiency curves that describes your engine.

The colored lines have a legend in the top right corner that also helps define the other lines. To be honest, not sure what the power curves (green lines) signify.
