Hey, On a bear metal respray they would usually etch prime it 1st then prime and then paint. After a repair they put primer over it. Also Dont think that the car is safe being primed and left for to long as primer is porous ??? Not 100% sure about that tho ???. Rust basically starts forming on the metal as soon as its bared.
