Unless you can get twins secondhand, from someone who doesn't know what they're worth an engine swap will work out comparable in price. Twin side draughts go for around 800-1000, add the manifold 200 minimum, which will have to be custom, as i've never seen anything availible for a 4afc. you're up for a grand already, and you haven't begun to tune the things yet, which will cost an arm and a leg, unless you know someone who deals with them all the time. Does the 4afc have a electric fuel pump? if not thats another hundred.

I don't want to put you off your goal, but get quotes on everything and compare the difference in costs, it may only cost a bit more, and if you have to save a month or two longer then save. Cos two months is just two months waiting for cash, regret will stay with you till you sell the car. Or spend more money doing it how you really wanted in the first place.
