Backing off the accelerator quickly from hi speed makes the car
snap crackle and pop like a fuel cut isn't working (not sure on that).
Fresh air enters the hot exst and causes unburnt fuel to burn (go bang).
Its not a problem of too much fuel, its a problem of the air leaks.

1. Is it really safe to put extractors on 18R-C's?
2. Will removal of the EGR system increase combustion temperature therefore increasing the risk of a cracked head? if so is there any way of keeping the combustion temp down, or would i be better of setting up a cold air intake?
3. If extractors can be used without any risk would they benefit from heat insulating bandage?
4. Is the Flashlube Lube system a good idea or not? any experiences? I have the little 500ml bottle that can be plumbed into the intake.
5. I have a spare g/box from a 1979 imp jap hatch does anyone know what if any differances are between the local W50 and the imp W50?
1. No problem.
2. It shouldnt... many people remove the smog gear with no problems.
3. Maybe... bandage can cause problems like rust... better off getting them ceramic coated if you can afford it.
4. Yup, install away... then you can run ULP/PULP/ULP98 with confidence.
5. A W50 is a W50, no matter where its from... the only thing that can differ is the shifter position.
