K series motor questions Sat, 21 February 2004 18:51 Go to previous message
Hi all,
Been reading previous posts (mainly Stewarts) about building a modified K series motor, and have a few questions I'd like some help with.
just wondering where the 5K and the 4K-E motors came from. Are they from a local vehicle or an import motor? also why would you choose to build a 4K motor (apart from engineers cert. requirements) if by going to the 5K gives more c.i.d? and is there any reason not to use a 4K-C block, or are they somehow different?
Lastly, are the bolt patterns the same on these blocks. are bellhousings/boxes easily interchangeable? Until now I haven't played around much with Toyotas.

Thanks.
