 Some more SW20/21 questions

Well it appears a new MR2 in on the cards, hopefully by next Saturday  Anyway I've utilised the "Search" function here and on google, but couldn't really find what I was looking for, so...
1) I was reading some SW20 reviews and they were comparing the SW20 to a Honda CRX, one of the comparisons they made was "they are both front wheel drive" I thought, WTF? But I just assumed they were RWD, aparently now, so are SW20's FWD or RWD(I coulda sworn they were RWD!!!)?
2) Read around abit and aus delivered SW20's come with the 2L 3SGE. Now being a mid mounted engine and in a damn cramped space, is it possible to do some maintainance? I do my own oil/spark plug changes and as much stuff as I can figure out. Is the oil filter accesable without removing too much from the car? The pics I've seen from the engine bay I see I can change the plugs, but no idea as to the location of the oil filter.
3) Whats the cooling like? I mean Australia in summer is a damn hot place, how to SW20's cope with the heat? or are they prone to overheating?
Thats all I can think of for now, general opinions of SW20's & 21s would also be appreciated. Stuff like it seems the 3S has a flat spot @ 5000RPM.
Also if anyone's got any piccies of the boot(in the front), I'm curious as to how big it is, like feasable to go on holidays? Enough room to store stuff for 2 people.
