You could do some kind of high-quality bending job...the long rod that goes across the back of the engine bay could take up a bit of slack with a stregically placed kink.
The best thing would be to bite the bullit and go to a cable setup. KE70 throttle cables are nice and long. I unscrewed one of the ball-joint connectors from the linkage setup and then melted the led slug off the end of the cable (that goes into the firewall) and then heat the lead up and feed it into the ball-joint connector thingy (through the hole where it screwed onto the rods). Then you can just snap it onto the accelerator pedal like the linkages used to!
