Re: ke-35: Getting air out of brakes

Ok here it is!!!! First of all, for the easyist way of bleeding brakes you need. *Two people *Ten or 8mill spanner *Brake fluid *brake bleeder bottle (bottle with clear hose that fits snuggly around the nipple)
Ok first start at the Left rear. Always work in order from the furthist away from the master cylinder. connect up the hose and crack the nipple free. Get old matey in the car to press the peddel down slowly. DON'T PUSH IT ALL THE WAY DOWN!!!!!! old cars tend to build up dirt on the slide of the master cylinder and if you push it all the way down this can cause the dirt to slide in under the rubber O-rings and cause more headaches then what your trying to solve. Back to old Matey. just keep pumping the peddel slowly and shallow. and make sure that the master cylinder has always enough fuild in it. You will be able to see the brake fuild pass through the hose and also see the air go out. Once your satisfied that all the air is gone and your only pumping out fresh brake fuild, tighten up the nipple with the hose still on, and the brake peddel on the downward stroke. move to the next brake. before you start to bleed this one pump the pedal up till firm and then crack open, repeat execise.
NOTE!!!! After you have finished bleeding all the brakes, Get in the car and pump the pedal out, otherwise you'll get in the car, start it up and speed off. Only to get to the end of the street and put your foot on the brake and have it go right to the floor cause there is no presure.
Benny (hope I didn't sound to much of a school teacher) cheers hope I helped you out
