It blew the headgasket(s) at 140,000km's needing a major overhaul because one head warped and bent a cam etc. The lowest price VRS kit for it was ~$800. All up cost for the repair (by a toyota dealer) $3500. I've heard (mainly on this forum) that these v6's were a bit tempramental. They've just sold it with 350,000kms on the clock (hard km's too - they live in the country) and it was just starting to get a bit noisy and blow a little smoke on startup. So get the later engine if you can - overall I found it a great car though, it really flew and loved to rev. Torque steer on wet roads was sometimes a problem though . I think my Dad had it up to 220km/h with no worries - he came home and bragged to us about it!! [Updated on: Wed, 25 February 2004 23:47] [Report message to a moderator]
