WRX owners don't, hence the reputation for mincing gearboxes. As for the EVO boxes, they are just tough.

How to launch a Evo/VR4:
Rev motor to about 5500, at same time lift foot right off Clutch and Mash the accelerator to the floor.
Such are the jobs of having a Gearbox that can handle 500+hp bone stock, although our transfer cases spit the dummy after a while, but can be strengthened either by welding or replacing with better spider gears.
I launch my AW11 the same way, just at much lower rpm.
