RobST162 Forums Junkie Location: Epping, Sydney Registered: April 2003	Re: 87-90 SX Celica Questions Fri, 27 February 2004 00:57 well dude sounds pretty much how I bought my car, but I have spent $350 to get the 'bubbles' fixed on the sunroof and I now need a g-box job sometime in the not-too-distant future. Notchy gearbox will be VERY common on an ST162 Celica that hasn't had it re-co'd/replaced yet. Something special if the g-box is excellent. Rocker cover leak? I doubt that, my bet would be that is it from the distributor-head "o" ring. Ie, where the two mate. LOTS of celica's leak there and I wouldn't worry about it unless it was something chronic. It doesn't take too long to fix. Unless the crank case is pressurising incorrectly or something.. but there would be other signs of that... wonder why he had the heater core replaced... lot of k's too. New clutch is good. I guess if the g-box is only notchy you should get over 3-4 years before you have to worry about replacing it. All depends how bad of course...and how you drive [Report message to a moderator]
