k, im a bit of a noob when it comes to abbreviations for car parts, im guessing TPS is throttle position switch, how would i go about checking the output, as in where abouts should i put the multimeter? and to be dumb, what does WOT stand for?

you need a multimeter .. and you probably need to identify on the TPS what is the WoT switch (if it has one) and what are the TPS wires ... with the itention of measure resistance between the wiper and output of the TPS
although this refers to a different ECU, it's what you;ve got to do...

some TPS combine the TPS and WOT so you should search thru this site for a wiring diagram for your ECU and TPS that shows wire colours.
