I'm an agnostic. 2.How long have you been a member of this tradition? About the same time I got my mum to pull me out of my catholic primary school, on account of I got sick of people saying "God works in mysterious ways" and "ours is not to question, merely to believe". Any school that couldn't answer my questions could go ram itself. 3.How did you come to be a member? see above. 4.What do you believe are the essentioal beliefs of your religion? The essential, central, core beliefs required for an agnostic is to acknowledge that nobody knows everything, and anyone who says they know something as important as the existence of an all-powerful being better have some damn good proof. It's important as an agnostic to realise that there may be a god, and that there just as easily might not be one. The minute you're prepared to say there is or there isn't, you better have some pretty smooth explanations. 5.What are the main stories/ myths of your religion? That we're hethens and that we're aaaall going to hell. Each and every one of us! Also that we are misguided members of God's flock, and that we shall return to his protective wing some day (because if we don't, the only other option is to burn in hell). 6.What has been the most significant religious ritual that you have experienced? Communion. I wore a tie, ate some bread, and drank some wine. That was a couple months before I denounced religion all together. 7.How is your religious organisation structured? We sit around in trendy clothes and think of how excellent it is to believe in ourselves as the masters of our own fate, and not under the watchful eye of some billion year old bastard. 8.What texts would you hold as most significant? Encyclopediae and New Scientist are pretty handy mags. I also suggest one hold onto a copy of the bible and read it's laughable contents if ever their sensible minds are in danger of becoming clouded with bullshit. 9.How do you decide if something is morally good or morally evil? Common sense. 10.What sacred symbols does your religion have? The brain, and any symbol which represents, that's right you guessed it, common sense and clear independent thought. 11.What do you find as the most benefeficial way to relate to your God? Look in the mirror and remind myself that the only person who has complete control over me, is me. Cut out the bullshit about God being all powerful and outright awesome, and I guess that's about as close as I get to godliness. [Report message to a moderator]
