depends what state you are in.

In qld.

1st offence = 2 days
2nd offence = 3 months
3rd offence = confiscated for good.

There haven't been many 2nd offences and no 3rd offences that i know of.

It should also be known that you don't actually have to be caught in the act. The laws say if the cop has a 'reasonable suspicion' then they can take your car. So if the cop is being a REAL dickhead then they could take the car if they have some dirt on you.

What the laws don't say is, what 'hooning' actually is? It seems to have vastly different meanings between the cops and the media. So...? Don't race, do burnouts etc. and you should be fine.
