prof. opinion (puts on publications coordinator hat)?
Match the rough-fill look of the gorilla in your typefaces and fill of type outlines.
The gorilla has this hand-made-stamp look about it, but the typeface is so '80s abba that it clashes badly - and it doesn't look 'primitive' at all.
Replace the diagonal lines with a texture/pattern from gorilla/human skin or hair, or simply that same rough-fill that the gorilla has but in a 20-30% tint of the black - the lines don't fit (also) with any notion of 'primitive'.
Use one typeface or make the name/url/phone number a font related (in style/family/feel/etc) to the main title - the two you've used are totally unrelated.
Where's your name? and what do you do in the business?
Have you done a business name search on the asic web site? you might have to add 'clothing' or 'fashions' to the title to find a free one.
Maybe you should flesh the design out into swing tags, promo material and POS concepts - there's nothign worse than a design that only works for one kind of item...
maybe you should play more on the 'gorilla love' theme that your logo is inferring... either thru gimicks (like mambo's old tooting dog or the Mooks targets and devils) or via slogans and smart-arse marketing pushes.
this help?
