well, it's really hard for exhaust shops, as they don't know what will satisfy you in the sound department they have a legal obligation to keep you under the decibel limits tho..
have a good chat with them about what you want, and ask to have a look at the resonator first, and also ask what they recommend. i found the head guy at "Aus best" to be really helpful, even tho i was just buying bits to weld up myself. i would recommend at least giving them a call.. http://www.tyres.com/exhaust.cfm
my exhaust system was cheap (welded myself) but the 2 2" resonators were $25, adn the 2" reverse flow muffler was $50.. cheap as shit, but they sound great, and don't attract attention. being 2" on a 1.3L (8000rpm) motor means it still flows ok. but it's always a balance between restriction and noise, and sound..
a tip tho, if you have 3 significantly differently sized things in the exhaust (like cat, resonator, and decent muffler. none of this straight thru shite ) then they will cut out different parts of the exhaust noise, and give the perception of lowerr volume.
