lang Forums Junkie Location: Adelaide Registered: June 2003	Re: ***EMERGENCY*** Need this survey done by 5-6 people Thu, 04 March 2004 08:04 this is a bit late but i feel like doing it anyway 1.What Religious tradition do you belong too? athiest 2.How long have you been a member of this tradition? 8 years 3.How did you come to be a member? if there is one true religion then how do u explain all the other religions if people have a "soul" then why dont animals get to have one? they are capable of communicating and have feelings just like we do. if you are a good person and live life decently but dont believe in god you go to hell, but if your a serial rapist and have killed many people god will forgive you and you can go to heaven riiight.... dinosaurs anyone? i didnt see them on the ark? i once had someone tell me that dinosaurs were made up and never existed!!!!!!!! i could go on alot longer, but these unanswered questions that i personally have as what made my mind up 4.What do you believe are the essentioal beliefs of your religion? that god is for weak people to believe in to make themselves feel better, or otherwise they are too afraid not to believe just in case its true 5.What are the main stories/ myths of your religion? that religion was invented by man 6.What has been the most significant religious ritual that you have experienced? going to a church 7.How is your religious organisation structured? there is no structure 8.What texts would you hold as most significant? n/a 9.How do you decide if something is morally good or morally evil? if an action causes pain or suffering or its dishonest ect then i would call that morally wrong, i also believe that sometimes sacrifices must be made for the greater good. 10.What sacred symbols does your religion have? none 11.What do you find as the most benefeficial way to relate to your God? n/a one thing i really dont like is people trying to push their religion on to you, i am happy for people to have their own beliefs, and see no need to push my views onto others if i have someone start preaching to me i allways say to them "do you believe strongly in your beliefs" and they say yes, then i say "do you belive so strongly that no matter what anyone said to you you wouldnt change your mind?" and they say yes, then i say "well i am the same so unfortunatley you would be wasting your time speaking to me" [Report message to a moderator]
