Use a cutting compound (like the above mentioned) and do it by hand. just make sure the compund is all removed then wash car with a wash (not wash and wax, once again mequires has a "cleaner" that cleans old wax and chemicals from paint) then apply a wax and polish by hand. Takes eons the first time you do the car. but if you clean the car regularly using the right products in the right order it becomes easier. Check out the mequires site for their various products and their application to different cars, paints. Interesting stuff.

yep

buy gel wash
buy scratch x
buy deep crystal paint cleaner (part 1 of 3)
buy deep crystal polish (part 2 of 3)
buy deep crystal carnauba wax (part 3 of 3)

apply in above order

shiney!

Precisely what my car gets once a month. on top of that there is a spray on wipe off "buff" that removes that light layer of dust that seems to appear the day after you polish. I give my car the full wash once a month and clean it other weekend with the dust cleaner. if your car is light in colour you don't notice the dust as much.

i find that the "wax in a bottle" thing is pretty useless

wash+vacumn every weekend, full detail with polish/wax every second

des, if the 2 scratches are still visible you might need to clay the surface up and do it properly, some scratches are too deep to repair

the suction cups do work, but only for specific types, its its just been "popped" in, you can pop it out, but its its actually "bent" the metal, no chance
