its not the car being set up to slide, its to car being set up to handle smoothly(ie. stable etc) when being pushed to its limit. if you ever go in a drift car you'll notice that they do handle extremely well around a track and it the driver input that creates the slide. also you may notice that the suspension on drift car (parts etc) is very similar if not the same as track cars. sure the setup is a little different but there not as far apart as what you think.
