Floating hubs can be engineered to accept wider wheels than the standard variety. They are also a lot more robust. I am putting in a F series axle in my 28 mainly because I don't want too much extra unsprung weight. Only problem is that the axles aren't all that big in em. Floating hubs also restrain the wheel if you brake an axle. [Report message to a moderator]
