The stock intake sits behind the headlight but is still in the hot engine bay. Adding a pipe from the wheel arch to the bumper defeats the whole ides. RESISTANCE = LENGTH X COSSECTIONAL AREA by blocking off the end stock piping the air comes in the side which is closer to the airbox and has a larger opening.
