Sun, 07 March 2004 01:01 Does the car miss, as in, is there a sudden drop in power and jolt through the driveline? Or is it a noise that seems to have no ill effect on the engine? Is this is neutral or in gear (under load) If there is no ill effect from the noiuse could it be possible you ripped a small hole in the muffler, or rattled the xtractors slightly loose, this will let o^2 into the exhaust and let excess fuel pop and burn.. If you did change the points also a month ago, points need to be adjustst about a week after installing because the fresh rubbing block contact area has to wear in, which it probably has, causeinbg the dwell angle/timing to change. This would also explain a loss in power/missfire. Does it happen all the time now? When cold? When warm? etc.. Try those out, but otherwise give us some more info!! [Report message to a moderator]
