This is a problem that is suffered by cars like old Holdens, where when the weather/engine bay is hot and the engine is switched off, the fuel in the line to the pump turns to gas(vapour, not the yank term for petrol!), making it impossible for the pump to do anything. In 'conventional' EFI systems (including 4AG), a return line is used, therefore any vapour lock will clear within a few seconds of the key being turned on.
