From my research Hydraulics in Aust. are illegal on a road car, Airbags are not but may require engineering as usually you need to relocate the shock to clear the bag.(usually in the rear)
As for ride quality they are very good in terms of being less bumpy on a similarly lowered vehicle. I'd like to find out how different they are in the handling stakes, as from what I understand you need to have pressure in them to get the handling up.(ie lifting the car.)
