Jeepers!! What sort of bloody anti-freeze do you run, or do you have a block warmer

My anti-freeze is good till -35C-40C, but I have to use radiator sized piece of cardboard in front of my radiator when it goes bellow -20C. Without the piece of cardboard, my radiator would freeze to one block of ice due to wind that hits my cars front when I'm driving(dont know what to call that wind). I do have block warmer(550W) and cabin warmer(2000W). You can see the the warmer-cord in the pic that is taken in parking lot. I have kept -25C as a limit that when it goes bellow that I dont torture my car by starting it. But did I have to start my car recently at -35C. It sure was a experience that I dont want to suffer again. Motor started fine but it took about 10seconds to get the oil pressure to rise. My gearbox and diff was freezed. Gear-stick was so rigid that you have to use both hands to shift and when I did release the clutch, my Corona stalled immediately. After new start I did have to keep revs at 3000 and when I released clutch again my car didnt stall but started to go like automatic would go, so I did keep it still and running by braking and reving it Smile . My round tires were freezed to D-shaped tires too Smile . Driving was like pulling 50t truck.

Anyway dont get me wrong here ain't normally too cold. Normal winter temperatures in Oulu-my home city are between -10C and -20C. Coldest temperatures in my home city have been close to -40C. Village that I went to army (Sodankylä) is officially coldest in Finland and AFAIK in Europe. That village is on northern side of arctic circle.

Luckily summers are nice and warm.
