If you have a digital camera, try gPhoto. Haven't had problems with plugging a digicam in yet... And FWIW, I've found it a lot easier to plug things into Linux than Windoze. As long as the driver was compiled into the kernel, it will be automatically recognised and configured without a need to reboot. USB works the same, hotplug any USB device in and it should be recognised. The thing is that if something goes wrong, you might be able to fix it in Linux. On Windoze, you're screwed... And on the subject of Macs, I grew up knowing that they were inferior to my beloved Amigas so I don't really have that much of a respect for them. The PPC architecture and OS X BSD core is really good though, at least it multitasks now (Windoze is still struggling with the concept). [Report message to a moderator]
