Since you seem serious about this here's another possible source of info. There was a limited production (1 proto and 6 production) version of the Ford Festiva in the US - the same one we had here, a rebadged Mazda 121. They took a Taurus SHO V6 drivetrain (3.0 24v 164kW), wedged it in the back and called it the SHOgun. Do a Google on 'festiva shogun' and you'll get plenty of hits. The best one for your purposes is probably http://www.fordfestiva.com/gallery/grassroots_fest iva_shogun.htm which shows the buildup of a replica.
