Wed, 10 March 2004 22:09 If all your looking for is accurate boost .i have micro controller now . IT elinimates all spikes .and gives accurate boost . Norbie is right a good bleed will give accurate stable boost . The Micro Controller can be run in Cabin (but this gives a small spike..around 2 psi) cost is $169 incl postage The main advantage of my existing system (fullsystem)is the wastgate controll valve . Its a custom manufactured pressure relief valve that is VERY accurate with a range of 0-2 Bar(about 30 psi). holding the wastegate DEAD shut until say 10 psi brings boost on twice as fast as normal The thing that makes this valve beter than Norgren..as used in audi boost system ....zoom) its more acccurate .a fine thread adjustment that allows 0.5 of a psi varitaions in boost Is it doesnt melt(a few people have melted the plastic internals ) and as it is gas filled. SO it is less effected by heat (if at all) the problem i had with cheaper valves was as they got hot the accuracy was badly effected . so boost varied up to 3 psi either way the reason my controller brings boost on faster is it NEVER leaks it was originally designed to handle pressure of between 45 and 300 psi EVERY electronic boost controller that has a wastgate delay function .uses a progressive opening valve .so all you do is slow wastegate creep .not stop it . So boost comes on faster but not EVEN close to how fast my wastegate controll can . I had a pneumatic engineering firm test and custom modify these valves to work that way as soon as someone invents an electro-pmeumatic pressure relief valve (0-2 bar) that works .ill convert my own boost sytem to electronic .But for me MAXIMUM performance out ranks in cabin gadgets im not bagging electronic but they can be improved on .simply by adding the wastegate contoll inline on a mates HKS electronic boost was MUCH stronger in 2nd and 3rd gear . 2nd gear went from hard chirp to about 2 secs of wheelspin . a turbo shop in newcastle adds them to turbosmart e boost system [Report message to a moderator]
