I guess when you go to buy something privately you like to check the condition by feel rather than photo, size up the seller to see if they are legit and as a seller you would like to see the cash not cheques or promises. And when you pay for something you want it now. This is just the facts of life when doing 'business' from a distance. In saying this I bought a speedo gear from a guy in the US last year, he said he would mail it to me and I should pay if I am happy (what trust) I paid him prior anyway, but it was less than $50 for a product/vendor that came recommended by another discussion board.
