if its not the head gasket its definately a cracked block.... gas out the radiator after bleeding the air out and driving for a few hours is a good indication theres HOT gasses escaping from the cylinders somewhere.. do a compression check and see if you get a low reading on one or possibly two cyliders (if its cracked between the bores ). Have you put oversize pistons in this engine?? if so cracking between the bores is quite likely depending on the overbore.
goto a GOOD mechanic and get a pressure and gas analysis test on the radiator.. that will tell you straight away if theres gasses from the bore. If the mechanic doesent understand what your asking for goto someone else, as he will clearly not be someone youd want to work on your car.
