well not entirely Smile yes it is due to a part getting old, but PARTICULARLY on gen1 3sge the sender unit has a premature mental, read the last few posts here...

my pressure, though reading abnormally low, is actually fine (workshop tested) and well within toyota's specified parameters. I have to just adjust the way I read my guage, with "idle" pressure operating almost at the bottom of the guage.
