ok update people.
Have parked on a big fuck off hill so that the radiator is at highest levn, its no longer bubbling air but the problem is somewhat worse, now the water never boils and the rad cap is fair hot but not burn worthy hot.
Driving in traffic i have to have the thermo on all the time, temps creep up at the lights.
now if i park for 10 minutes with the motor off and come back and start it, the temp gauge is waaay high, then as soon as its running it drops back down quickly... sort of like as soon as there is coolant being circulated.
never used to have these probs...
