if you plan on using an unheated sensor, it should be within about 1-1.5 feet from the head.

if you use a heated sensor, it can be placed much further away, so you can fit in in the last collector, and sample of all 4 cylinders.. if you are confident that your injectors are ok, sampling off two cylinders should be ok, but may not get an unheated sensor hot enough.

i still have a couple of Bosch and NTK heated sensors (no flange, they have the standard M18x1.5 thread) for $60+post (or i could drop it off in camden sometime)
