Acid dipping is also a good solution, but it has its cons.
You need to cut holes in any panels so that you can respray hidden panels. Acid dipping removes all paint from the car. Some of this can be difficult to respray and in smome cases impossible without cutting some large holes in panels, sill areas etc.... Its still a lot of work.

I believe that stripper, sandpaper and the wire brush are the best way to go in 95% of cases.
