Wed, 24 March 2004 09:30 same weight - but greater area in contact with road. how to simulate this at home? 1. stand on a large towel which is laid flat on kitchen floor - flatmate gently pulls on towel to drag you (still standing) across room 2. laydown on towel, spreading your weight around on the towel - in theory, you should be easier to drag you around the room 3. drink lots of beer in celebration of such an inane thing to do in the kitchen... where as slicks are a different rubber compound than your average tyre rubber - requiring much greater force to 'break traction' when in contact with road surface.
