Cutting hole in bonnet for a bonnet scoop Thu, 25 March 2004 06:56 Go to previous message
Need your advice everyone.

Trying to mount a bonnet scoop in the centre of my bonnet and wanting to cut a hole in the centre. However there is a bonnet support straight through the centre. What if I just cut the bonnet metal without cutting the bonnet support? I am looking at getting this engineered.

I asked an engineer today - if the bonnet supports are cut then it cannot be engineered. But if I cut just the bonnet metal on either side of the bonnet support (i.e instead of having one big square I have two smaller squares on both sides of the bonnet support) for a hole and not cut any supports it can be engineered but the bonnet needs to be reinforced.

Anyone got any ideas on how to reinforce the bonnet?

Cheers
