ST-162 SUNROOF SOLUTION IDEA!!!!!

I'm supposed to be doing my Tafe work, but this idea popped into my head, now the st-162s are great with the sunroof, adds to the really sporty feel of em, nice on the summer days....
What if u took off the panel, Sanded it down, and applied a RUST PROOF solution to it before respraying??
Would it be expensive??
Would u have to replace the seals for the sunroof?? how much are they??
U've probably thought about the idea before, i just thought i might bring it up!!!
